And I looked and, behold, I saw fire upon the mountain.

And the fire raged and rolled down and tumbled and

All were consumed but none perished.

And the brightness of its burning, terrible and fierce,

None could withstand.

And the whole earth was covered with flame.

And I looked and, behold, I saw fountains from the deep spring up.

And the waters broke like lightning and fell like thunder and

All were overwhelmed but none perished.

The crashing torrent covered the whole earth,

And the sound of its coming

Was like the voice of a great multitude lifted in song.

And I looked and, behold, in the midst of the tumult I saw a new thing.

And flame and fount were mingled

Though the fire was not quenched

And the waters were not dried up.

But they two together were become as one,

A sight unseen, marvelous and terrible.

And there came, as it were, a great wind from the north

And it blew over the whole earth like the breath of a lover,

Engulfing mingled fount and flame and entering therein.

And the threefold union thereof was as the rending of the sky.

And I listened and, behold, there was nary a sound,

And, in the silence, I wept for joy.

For, I looked and, behold, all creation was become new,

And all the former things were overcome and done away,

As darkness gives way to dawn.

And I saw the new heaven and the new earth,

And in the midst, that city whose builder and maker is God.

And all who love His appearing are dwellers therein.

And I listened and, behold, I heard the sound of a great host.

And they were come from every tribe and every tongue and

Every kindred and nation.

And they lifted their voices as one in new song.

And in that singing was found peace and fullness of joy,

And glorious praise everlasting.

And I looked and, behold, I saw fire upon the holy mountain.

And the light of its burning was over all and in all.

And the flowing waters, alive and ever new,

Brought healing to the nations.

And in the coolness of the day, there came walkings in the garden.

And the great wind was the breath of Eden once again.
